Wake up!!!!
I think I'm just beginning to experience what it means to truly dedicate one's life to a cause bigger than himself. Our introspects into Integrity and Principles leads me, to understand the the difficulty of fully immersing my heart and soul to sacrifice comfort and luxury to serve the higher purpose.
I sense a resounding growl of disdain every morning when i wake up early, the pangs of comfortable sleep eludes me and slips through my fingers when i know and connect with the point and purpose. I slipped up yesterday and it hurt my esteem. The development of this habit is more than just being disciplined and rigorous with my precious time, but an exploration to what it means to live with complete devotion to my calling.
The lessons are starting to form and waking up early is a sad example, but like what kelveen mentioned, it is the start, but we have a looooong way to go. I have yet to start on my powerpoint presentation on my research of the history of activism and the constant distractions of my placid desires of fun brings me to face my current trial. I am ill disciplined and i do not use my precious time wisely.
So more internal work.
I am enjoying the struggle, as i imagine the struggles the African slaves slugging away, picking cotton and singing hyms of "We shall Overcome" and the difficulty of simplying surviving, let alone their pursuit for purpose and freedom, constantly eluding them. I am humbled by the Jews trapped and knowing their fates in German concentration camps. There has been so much suffering, yet a man's drive to simply live and let live constantly push their own physical, mental and emotional boundaries for which i am in no position to fully grasp, leaves me ashamed. So what is it to just wake up every morning at 6am.
Nothing at all.
Simple.
